Ian’s in the build KB110

July 3, 2009

What would a trip to Australia be without some sort of Datsun meet? Ian pushed to get his new 1200 coupe running, so he could drive down from Sydney for a quick yarn. Now he tells me that it’s a work in progress and getting it running was stage one, yet I will not be in Australia to shoot it when it’s laying some rail so we went ahead with it anyhow.

He hasn’t had it long but already its showing lots of potential. Powered by a bored out and cammed A14, and roaring through a pair of Webers it went pretty well up that Mt Keira road.

Yeah it’s still in four wheel drive spec, get on it Ian. 13×6 and 6.5 Watanabes with 175/50/13 Sime Astar grace this cleaner than clean coupe. Looking forward to seeing it tucking those tiny wheels.

Previously fitted with a bolt in cage and missing most of the interior it’s just about ready for some track time.

Clean, hows that truck sized radiator. Perfect for those Australian summers. It was some mad motivation to get my A15 into gear after getting a ride in this and start pulling apart that parts engine of mine.

Sparco bucket seats and harnesses keeping you tied in.

Just a quick feature here, keen to see this coupe brought back to earth and some more stance stuffed into this build. Cheers Ian for coming down.
