JAPAN FLASHBACK I

December 26, 2012

I’m having a little flash back from my trip to Nippon in 2010, 2 years ago, I can’t believe it’s been so long. Here’s an image I shot from the junkyard of MOTORFIX, one of my favourite garages in the world. Thanks once again to Nozomu’s hospitality. Click here to see a small collection of motoring images.

MOTORFIX WAGON

April 16, 2012

With a friend off to Japan in the weekend and a few others soon to depart I have an urge to be back there myself (as if it ever really stops). Looking through the photos from the trip we did in 2010 made me realise I never posted close up photos of THE rust wagon, Nozomu’s battle machine. There was this one though, and I keep going back to the smooth tones my Rolleiflex makes but for the most part I haven’t shown a lot from this car.

In all it’s rusty…

… 4age…

… and holy glory, I must admit, I love this thing. The pure essence of drifting without a care in the world.

I’ve been reorganising and updating my photo library and realised there are still plenty of photos from my trip to Japan in 2010 that I haven’t posted… probably because there are a million of them? Well here are some photos from the D1 Divisional competition at YZ West course that we went to watch in November. I remember watching that R34 with the biggest turbo ever spooling like a airline down the straight and the little red AE86 following up behind in battle mode. 34 takes big smoky route, 86 never lifts and pushes nose right up into the door of the skyline on the second corner and into the hairpin. 86 takes it. I was so impressed. Actually, the final came down to that 86 and a red S14. As I recall the 86 went on to claim the win droving like a man possessed, only in Japan.

326 Infiniti

June 17, 2011

I was looking through my photos from Japan for Casey and felt this one needed to be posted. How good does this 326 Power Infiniti look on blood red 19″ TE37s?
